Improving resolution is important to not only see what RNA is present but also to aid in more accurate quantification. Slab gels are notoriously poor with regards to resolution, while chip-based analytical instruments separate over a very short distance (<1 cm total separation length).

The NGS Fragment Analyzer™ performs separations through long capillaries - up to 80cm. This extra capillary length enhances the resolution of fragments and smears to provide more accurate sizing of fragments, as well as more accurate quantification. Improved resolution also provides a better quality assessment of RNA.
