I want to Automate Throughput

Faster throughput (i.e. getting more samples analyzed faster) speeds up the discovery process for researchers. And it's essential when critical decisions need to be made in a timely manner.

If a project has many 100's of samples, that adds complexity to the process, which can introduce challenges not present with handling dozens of samples.

Another key factor is that with slab gel electrophoresis of RNA, it's difficult to maintain RNase-free laboratory conditions, especially as larger amounts of buffers and reagents are needed. Some of our competitors' analytical instruments, on the other hand, create bottlenecks mainly due to manual steps or low throughput per run.

On the AdvanCE™ FS Nucleic Acids Analyzer, automating analysis of RNA is simplified by:

  • Requiring minimal sample handling.
  • Using QC-tested reagents.
  • Virtually no instrument preparation time.

All this creates a streamlined operation and work flow. In addition, toxic or hazardous reagent handling is significantly reduced. The sample handling steps are:

  1. Heat samples at 70°C for 2 min then keep at 4°C.
  2. Add 2 μL of denatured mRNA sample to 18 μL Pico RNA Marker-Diluent.
  3. Fill any unused wells with 20 μL of 1X TE buffer.
  4. Centrifuge sample plate to remove bubble
  5. Place plate on AdvanCE™ FS Nucleic Acids Analyzer and start method.

The following factors allow improved throughput of RNA on the AdvanCE™ FS Nucleic Acids Analyzer :

  1. Superior instrument design to handle up to 3 x 96 well plates at one time (288 samples).
  2. The ability to interface with a robotic arm to completely automate sample plate delivery.
  3. PROSize™ analytical software for streamlined analysis of samples.
