AdvanCE™ FS
I want to...
I want to Analzye Larger Fragments
Denaturing slab gel methods typically used for mutation detection are not capable of separating fragments above 1,500 bp and realistically can not accurately resolve fragments above 1,200 bp. Though screening for chemically-induced or natural mutation in this range is possible, using the traditional method creates artificial limitations on throughput and workflow.
The AdvanCE™ FS Nucleic Acids Analyzer removes the fragment size limitation imposed by the traditional slab gel method. With the ability to separate fragments up to 40,000 bp, the AdvanCE™ FS Nucleic Acids Analyzer speeds up the screening process by expanding the size of fragments used in experiments.
By virtue of this fragment size increase, additional benefits can be realized such as reducing PCR components and saving precious genomic DNA. With the resolution and accurate sizing capabilities of the AdvanCE™ FS Nucleic Acids Analyzer, even fragments up to 3,000 bp can be sized, with differences as low as 50-100 bp resolved.
Currently two gel kits are available on the AdvanCE™ FS Nucleic Acids Analyzer for screening large DNA fragments. DNF-930 can separate fragments up to 40,000 bp while DNF-920 has high resolution through 12,000 bp. More information on these kits can be found here.
The following factors allow the AdvanCE™ FS Nucleic Acids Analyzer to be used for the analysis of large DNA fragments:
- Quality non-denaturing gel matrices specifically formulated to rapidly and accurately separate large fragments.
- Superior instrument design that precisely controls electrophoresis conditions.
- Highly sensitive detection of large fragments after separation through long length capillaries.
